The woodwind work on the Canzonetta, and its interaction with the tender solo parts came out so well that one can only wonder at the conductor and musicians' attention to detail. The contrasting B section gives way to a restatement of the sad opening theme, with excellent flute work presented by Sandra del Cid.

...Sandra del Cid, who joined the orchestra only recently, played the piccolo in a wonderfully musical fashion in the "Turkish March," where the percussion section supported her nicely.
